Making a Claim

All claims for JBI Kitcare are dealt with by a specialist claims management service that have experience in handling claims from members of the Armed Forces. This ensures our impartiality with all claims, as they are not dealt with in-house.

There are 2 simple steps to make when submitting a claim;

  • Check the policy wording and your insurance schedule to make sure that you are covered.
  • Contact our specialist claims handlers on 01323 418598 or email them at jbiclaims@bevalued.co.uk

You must ensure that your sums insured are sufficient to cover all of your belongings. In the event that this is not the case, you may be underinsured, which may affect the settlement value of any claim.

For valuable items, such as jewellery, you should consider taking photo’s of the items as one form of proof of ownership. You should also have an up to date valuation from a reputable jeweller.

What is required from you

You may be asked to provide proof of ownership, so it is important that you keep any receipts or other proof of purchase for valuable items.

Damaged items may need to be inspected, so please do not dispose of them until you have spoken to the claims handlers and received their authorisation to do so.

In the event of a theft or accidental loss of a valuable item you must report this to civilian or military police and obtain a crime reference number.

In the event of an electrical item not working due to damage that is covered under the terms of your policy, you may be required to obtain an Engineers report at your own expense.
