Important Information
JBI Services Personal Accident & Injury Insurance is underwritten by Millstream Underwriting Limited. It is an annual contract that provides you with lump sums in the event of catastrophic, permanent and paralysing injuries.
As well as using the FAQ section to help familiarise you with JBI KitCare, we have compiled the following important information for your perusal.
Deploying in the next 6 months
We cannot offer cover if you have been informed that you or your unit is under a mounting order or other order or instruction to commence an operational deployment within the next 6 months.
Leaving HM Forces
Cover can continue when you leave HM Forces. We ask that you contact us and let us know when you are leaving and most importantly, your new occupation. This will be referred to the Insurers for acceptance.
Depending upon your new occupation you may either;
- Be accepted at normal terms with no change to your policy
- Have to pay an additional premium
- Have cover declined, in which case the policy will be cancelled
Optional Travel Insurance – Health Warranty
You must advise us if any of the following apply to a person to be insured, a travelling companion, an immediate relative, close business associate or someone upon whom the trip depends, (whether they are travelling or not);
- are you/they aware of reasons why a trip could be cancelled or curtailed or of any medical condition, which could result in a claim
- during the last 12 months, have you/they suffered from or received treatment, advice or medication for any chronic or ongoing condition or a recurring illness
- are you/they receiving, recovering from, or on a waiting list for in-patient treatment in a hospital or nursing home
- have you/they been diagnosed as having a terminal illness
- are you/they waiting for results of tests or investigations, or awaiting a referral for an existing medical condition
- are you/they travelling against the advice of a doctor or in order to get medical treatment abroad
We will not cover any of the health conditions referred to above unless declared to us and accepted by us in writing. To make a medical declaration please contact our medical screening service on 0845 643 2623. You may be required to pay an additional charge which will be dependent upon the conditions declared.
If there is any change in a person’s health between the date the policy is issued and the start date of a trip you must notify our medical screening service immediately.
