What is Covered
JBI have been placing international group health insurance for over 15 years. This experience, together with the range of international group health insurance providers that we have access to allows us to provide competitive quotes with cover tailored to suit your group’s needs.
All our insurers offer basic group cover which includes inpatient, day-patient and emergency evacuation and in addition the option of more inclusive cover which includes maternity, routine dental and wellness checks. Some insurers also offer optional extras such as travel insurance and personal accident cover.
Area of cover
Some insurers offer European cover only, others offer cover for worldwide or worldwide excluding USA and/or Canada. As a group, in addition to cover within your country of residence, dependant on the level of cover, you can select elective cover in your home country. For example an American working for a group in Singapore can elect to go back to the U.S for treatment.
Definition of Group
A group is a minimum of 3 members of staff.
Excess/Deductible
All our insurers offer a range of excess/deductibles to suit your needs – the higher the excess accepted, the more the standard premium is discounted.
Choice of currencies
Most of our insurers offer at least three major currencies for quotes and applications – U.S. dollars, pounds sterling and Euros. For clients in the Middle East we can quote in dirhams.
Choice of underwriting
Depending on the size of your group, the typical methods of underwriting will be, Medical History Disregarded, Continuing Personal Medical Exclusions, or Full Medical Underwriting.
Choice of payment methods and instalment
Our insurers offer a range of payment methods and you can choose to pay the premium either in instalments or annually.
Pre-existing medical conditions
Depending upon the size of your group, it may be possible to arrange cover for members with pre-existing medical conditions where they may continue to enjoy cover for these conditions. This facility is designed to ensure that any such members of your group are not disadvantaged by a change in provider.
It is extremely important that you notify us at the time of quoting if any members of your group have pre-existing medical conditions as this we will need to establish whether or not cover can be obtained for these conditions.
Cooling off period
Most insurers offer a “cooling off” period which allows clients to cancel within a reasonable time frame from the start of the policy e.g. 14 days without penalty.
